New Tile: Week of August 28
Hello, tile friends!
We’ve had a busy week since the first dispatch from our antique tile bunker in West Philadelphia. Scrubbing tiles for a Brooklyn vestibule, designing a backsplash for an Ohio home, shipping out three custom designs for a home in Florida on the National Register of Historic Places, and working up a few hearth designs for a historic home in Austin, Texas were just a few of the projects we got into. As this newsletter progresses, we’ll include photos of completed client projects.
Fellow literary tile enthusiasts (and cat lovers) will understand our excitement about supplying a fireplace surround for Ernest Hemingway’s birthplace in Chicago. Fingers crossed the tiles will be installed when we venture to the Windy City later this year. You can learn more about the place via The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park.
As for the coming week, we’ll be out of the workshop until the weekend. Details are on the QT, but we’ll share the final results when appropriate. We’ll likely be reporting next week with sore backs, caked in dust from a century of dirt, mortar, grout, and foot traffic.
In the meantime, be sure to check out our new listings for the week!
