Storied Salvage grew out of a love for storied objects and saving lovely old things

Founder Katy McWhirter travels throughout the United States rescuing tiles from soon-to-be demolished properties and homes where owners cannot see their beauty and value. She also maintains extensive relationships with other salvagers throughout the U.S. and Europe, working directly with them to bring historic tiles to her workshop to restore and rehome them. She develops custom designs for our clients and can be reached at katy@storiedsalvagetile.com.

As our business evolves, co-founder James Mielke will likely be your first point of contact. In addition to answering client questions, he manages our workflow and inventory, and is on a quest for maximum efficiency. James has a history degree from Nashville's Belmont University and has worked as a writer, line cook, and shipping guru—this confluence of professional experiences leaves him surprisingly well-suited for his role in handling customer relations and operations. He can be reached at james@storiedsalvagetile.com.
