Custom Design for a Nashville Victorian

In early fall 2023, Kyle and Donnie reached out to discuss the potential of crafting a custom fireplace surround and hearth with historic tiles to complement an antique mantel found at a local architectural salvage store.

When they purchased the heritage property just outside Nashville, Tennessee, the space they envisaged for a fireplace offered a blank canvas.

Kyle provided several examples of colors and designs they liked, providing us with a starting point to pull from our extensive collection of tiles ranging from 1860-1930.

It became clear that Kyle and Donnie were drawn to earthy colors, particularly ochres and mustards.

We ask all of our clients to provide dimensions of their extant or new fireplace, allowing us to create a design specific to their square footage needs.

By the time Kyle and Donnie visited our workshop, we had a full design laid out according to the desired size of their fireplace. They also mentioned wanting to try out some larger figural tiles to frame the surround, so we pulled a few options.

Donnie and Kyle were able to install their new custom designed fireplace in time for the holiday season, creating a focal point for years of memories to come.
