Pair of 19th Century Figural Green Tiles
This listing features an impeccable set of late 19th-century figural tiles featuring a lovely Art Nouveau floral scene glazed in a beautiful green. The glaze pools in the lower relief parts of each tile, creating a striking blend. Each tile measures 6x6".
These tiles were made by the U.S. Encaustic Tile Company out of Indianapolis. They came from an 1880's home in Chicago shortly before demolition.
This tile can be used in a surround or hearth design, in a kitchen or bathroom, or framed to enjoy as home decor.
These tiles are in lovely condition for their age and feature intricate designs that can complement many different home styles or be framed as home decor.
These tiles have been hand scraped of all loose dirt, mortar, and grout before receiving a thorough cleaning to remove soot, coal, and paint. This piece of art and home history and offers a great way to bring ambiance and patina into your home.
