23 19th Century Cream Tulip & Swag Figural Border Tile - Old Bridge
From our recently acquired collection of tiles from California, we present these lovely creme figural tiles featuring a center tulip surrounded by swag and greenery. These were made by the Old Bridge tile company in approximately 1895 and measure 3 x 6”.
23 of these tiles are available, or 11.5 linear feet. They are being sold individually.
These tiles were salvaged more than two decades ago and have lived in boxes since. We purchased these from a supplier in California before having them carefully trucked across the country.
These tiles can be used in several applications, including in a kitchen, bathroom, vestibule, or fireplace. The tiles feature a beautiful crazing indicative of their age.
All tiles in this set have been hand scraped of all loose dirt, mortar, and grout before receiving a thorough cleaning to remove soot, coal, and paint.
Salvaging these historic tiles in quantities large enough can be challenging, making this a rare and sought-after set. Each tile represents a piece of art and home history and offers a great way to bring ambiance and patina into your home.
